
Princesshay to be the official Exeter city centre fanzone for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025
Princesshay is delighted to announce that it has been awarded official city centre fanzone status for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 this August and September.
Rugby fans will be able to gather and watch all the action in Princesshay Square where live coverage will be shown on a big screen each day of the tournament including all the matches hosted at Sandy Park staring on Friday 22nd August when the tournament officially begins.
Spectators will have a mix of seating options within the free and accessible fan zone including bean bags, deck chairs and picnic benches with refreshments available at a pop-up bar. Nearby to the main square will be a host of street food vendors together with take-out favourites from Princesshay’s restaurants.
Princesshay Marketing and Commercialisation Manager Hannah Overton said “We are so excited to be part of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. As a host city it’s an important moment for Exeter.
“Today marks 100 days to go until the tournament begins and to kick off celebrations, we are excited to reveal that Princesshay will be part of the official Trophy Tour which will be visiting Exeter between 20th and 22nd May.
“We look forward to welcoming fans to Princesshay in the upcoming months where the centre will be dressed for the occasion with flags, bunting and interactive rugby themed photo opportunities.”

To build excitement ahead of the start of the tournament Princesshay will be hosting a free 50 days to go celebration event on Saturday 5th July between 10am and 3pm, with live music, face painting, interactive games and challenges.
